Welcome the the Guitarist Collective web site. You may be wondering what it's all about, so let me fill you in.

A few years ago, a group of guitar players from around the world came together to challenge ourselves. Each month, a taskmaster is appointed, and it is his/her job to set a musical task for the rest of the group to tackle. It could be a technical restriction (e.g. must use 7 major chords, and no minors ones), or a more abstract idea (e.g. express the word "home" in music).

Whatever the task there is no pressure to contribute, and best of all, we are a very inclusive group. We don't criticise each others' work for the sake of criticism. instead we offer advice on technique, recording style, and anything else that's appropriate to helping each other out.

So, if you're a player, and you have access to a means of recording yourself, why not come in and get involved?
